Workshops:
Xplosive Worship
This is a workshop on worship targeting youth who are in the worship ministry. It is very easy for young people in the ministry to lose focus, get disillusioned or burnt-out, or even develop resentment against their leaders or co-workers in the ministry. It is also easy for musicians to get so caught up in the music that they lose sight of the true calling and purpose behind their ministry.
It will also remind them of the importance of maintaining purity in their motives and their personal and spiritual. It is only with clean hands and a pure heart that they can truly touch lives through their ministry.
This workshop is designed to re-focus the youth in the ministry. It will also serve to remind them that no matter what they’re going through in their ministry, there are other young people our there who go through the same struggles and who know how they feel. It will also create opportunity for young musicians and talents from the various youth groups to network and build relationships.
The Refresh band will participate in the sharing at this workshop. A few of the band members will share on their personal experiences and testimonies.
“Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.”
Radical Relevance
This workshop will offer practical training on how to relate better, as a Christian, to the unsaved ones they encounter every day. Oftentimes youth find difficulties relating to their un-churched friends without compromising their own standards. They end up being labeled as “weird” or, more often than not, compromise their own standards to be accepted. Yes, the Bible does say that as Christians we will not be accepted by the world. But it is still important for us to be relevant and understand:
- the world’s view of Christians and Christianity
- how to relate to those who hardly know anything about Christ or Christianity
The objective of this workshop is to give young people practical tools they can apply in their lives to define themselves as true Christians with lifestyles that are respected instead of rejected. It will also emphasize the importance of their involvement in serving the community or the less fortunate.
Youth Christians are to be beacons of light – living holy lives that are respected and admired. Lives that draw others to Christ and bring glory to God.
“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good work and glorify your father which is in heaven.”
